John Franklin, Mayor of Vista, California running for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors District 5

Vista Mayor John Franklin has deep roots in the community and a strong record of getting results. First elected to the City Council in 2014 and serving as mayor since 2022, he has focused on tackling homelessness, strengthening public safety, and running city government responsibly. Under his leadership, Vista eliminated its structural budget deficit, increased emergency reserves by 35%, revitalized downtown, and attracted new employers and investment. He also led the city’s award-winning Homelessness Strategic Plan and expanded services for veterans, seniors, and foster youth. Now Franklin is running for San Diego County Supervisor for District 5 to bring his practical, solutions-focused leadership to North County San Diego.
