Our Guest Speakers This Month: Andrew Hayes and Sabrina Soffer
Andrew Hayes has served on the Lakeside Union School District Board of Trustees since 2018, where he’s led efforts to increase transparency, bolster academic outcomes, and expand parental involvement in K–12 decision-making. A seasoned legislative strategist, Andrew championed the district’s updated curriculum review policy and secured funding for mental-health services and student-leadership programs. He sits on the San Diego County Education Coalition and volunteers with local STEM outreach initiatives. With a background in public policy and a commitment to community engagement, Andrew brings practical insights on forging partnerships between parents, educators, and elected officials to strengthen our schools.
Sabrina Soffer is an American-Israeli author, advocate, and policy researcher at the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP) in Washington, D.C. She played a key role in the House Education and Workforce Committee’s investigations into campus antisemitism and has conducted policy research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. A prolific commentator, Sabrina regularly appears on Fox News, Newsmax, and NewsNation and contributes to both Jewish and mainstream publications. She published her first book, My Mother’s Mirror, at age 18 and addressed 300,000 attendees at the November 2023 American March for Israel. Sabrina holds a double major in Philosophy and Judaic Studies from The George Washington University, where she led the Student Government’s Antisemitism Task Force and served as President of Chabad at GW.
